What: Spring British Car Clinic
When: Saturday, June 6th at 9AM
Where: Steele Jaguar, 6031 Livingstone Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 2C5
As you know this clinic will be held at Steele Jaguar who have graciously offered their shop and technical support to help with this.
REGISTRATION via the BATANS WEBSITE is now OPEN
The session starts at 9:00AM and will run until noon, remember to bring your folding chairs.
- Cars will be taken into the shop in the order they were registered and placed on the hoist one at the time (staggered)
- Great care needs to be taken to avoid injuries to people walking around in the shop: no cars will be allowed to move unless accompanied by an appointed spotter. You and your car will be directed into the shop in the hoist area by one of our spotters. Exit procedure is the same.
- The technicians are available to safely help lift the car in the air on one of the hoists and offer answers to questions you may have about your car. Our host supplies the venue; it was never the intention to do significant repairs as there is not enough time for this. Each car is scheduled 30 minutes of hoist time to make this work. There are other BATANS members available that can help you with questions you may have and show you what to look for.
- As you will be checking under your car you may want to bring Coveralls or old clothing as most LBCs are a bit wet and drippy underneath.
- It is also suggested to bring a good quality flashlight so you can see in nooks and crannies, work gloves or disposable gloves, and some rags to wipe off the goo.
- 8The alignment bench is available however it may not fit very many LBC’s as the ramps have 40.5” in between. IE you need 40.5” minimum between the inside of your tires.
- 9Hoist lift pads require 4” clearance to fit under your car.
Liability: to get around the liability that is incurred by both parties, Workorders will be opened for each vehicle that enters the shop, to do this we need the VIN for your vehicle. Please forward ASAP to Thijs Molenaar.
Personal Protective Equipment: members working in the shop are required to wear certified safety footwear and safety glasses. Steel Jag may have safety glasses on-site; however, they will not work with prescription or readers.
This is a NO Charge event for attending BATANS members and should be a great opportunity for all of us, social time and a chance to have a closer look under your car,
We look forward to seeing all of you.
We are going for lunch at the Lions Head Tavern, 3085 Robie str. (head count at the start of the session) at less then 5 minutes from Steele Jaguar.
Please feel free to contact any of us if you have any questions.
