The group drive Friday from Halifax was through some scenic, less travelled roads through Oxford, Amherst to Shediac in sunshine however it was there things changed and the heavens opened up with torrential downpours associated with thunderstorms. Registration and reception was at the Bonar Law site late Friday afternoon and evening accompanied by some wonderful finger food, oysters and excellent locally made berry wines.
Saturday morning dawned sunny and a bit cooler, a perfect day for the 40 cars that turned up at the Bonar Law showfield from all parts of New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia but sadly missing from P.E.I. Voting on the cars was by Participant's and People's choice and awards presented at the excellent meal provided by the Rexton Lions Club with Premier Shawn Graham and his wife in attendance. The awards were intricate hand carved wooden replicas (bas-relief) of an original large carving by local artist Pat Doiron of the 1923 Vauxhall Kingston owned by Jurg Pilgrim.
People's Choice Award: Curry and Sherry Alders in their 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 MK III from Upper Kingsclear, NB
Participant's Choice Award: 1952 MGTD owned by Debbie and Rodney Krolouski from St. George, NB
Mayors Choice Award: Bob Hamilton with his 1954 Sunbeam Talbot Drophead Coupe
Long Distance Award: Ed & Esther Ingold from Lunenburg, NS in their Land Rover

Sunday breakfast was provided by the Richibucto Lions Club followed by an R.C.M.P. escorted parade through the streets of Rexton and Richibucto to the Daigle Campground in Saint Louis where we enjoyed donuts and coffee. During our free afternoon, some of us toured the area visiting Cap-Lumiere and down the coast towards Buctouche returning to Rexton in the late afternoon where six members enjoyed a wonderful evening hosted by Ernst Zwahlen and Annette with Elsbeth Pilgrim with great food and drink. Thanks again to Ernst and Annette for a memorable evening at their beautiful home.
