You could not have special ordered better weather than today, sun, sun and not too hot for the gathering of BATANS members and their cars to offer anyone a 15 minute ride in their cars for $15.00. What a deal, and we had many "takers". It was a great day to just hang out and do a bit of driving and then hang out again, meet some neat people and at the same time raise money for an excellent cause, ALS.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this annual event such a success this year, especially Ray Whitley with the able help of daughter Emma and ALS representative Jennifer Gardiner and the other generous proud sponsors Wilson Fuels for gas vouchers, Robins Donuts for the coffee, donuts and sandwiches, and ITS Construction - not to mention Bernie Smith and the Spring Garden Road Merchants Association, who organized Cars in the Park.
So BATANSkis actually did most of the set-up and so on. Irene Phinney was
very helpful with the lunch, Roger was there and everywhere, and Laurie
Bell & Margaret Bond, especially, seemed always to be there when a
barrier needed moving, or similar - but you and a host of others all leant
a hand, which made it all come together.
