Our 2008 Annual general Meeting took place at 11 Cranston Ave. (Sperry residence) on May 3rd starting with an excellent pot-luck dinner at 5:30 PM.
The meeting was called to order by Rod Patriquin at 7 PM and the minutes of last years meeting were read and approved. Business arising from the minutes were discussed and new business followed by the financial statement read by Bob Hamilton.
There was a discussion on a proposal presented by Rod Patriquin that in order to reduce costs producing the Small Torque newsletter members will be given the choice to receive a hard copy by mail or downloading from the club web page when it becomes available. The cost of the newsletter including postage and envelopes and labels runs close to $4,000 annually and this could be reduced substantially if members choose the electronic version. Of course, members without Internet will continue to receive the hard copy by mail. A message will be going out soon to online members regarding this choice.
The full minutes will be included in the upcoming newsletter which will be mailed out this month.
